L'OPTICIEN QUI HABILLE LES YEUX DU TOUT PARIS

Pierre Marly arrived in the world of the optics around the years 45-50 at a time when the glasses were another starved of affection accessory close to the prosthesis: some forms (round dance, oval), two materials (the acetate and the doubled now), a colour (scale). Pierre Marly is going to change all this and gives a new dimension, creates new completely original forms, introduces the colour into his models.
It will be the first to introduce fashion in spectacle trade in 1951.
Opening of the first shop lashes out François 1-st, within the Golden triangle.
Success is not waited and confirms its status of first creator in spectacle trade.

In 1952 he creates for Audrey Hepburn a model which makes fury. It has very big dimension and equipped with convex glasses. Then it was for Sophia Loren a model in shape of television screen in very lively colours.
These eccentricities are going to attract the stars, the journalists and he becomes from 1960 the "avant-garde" optician. The clientele is so consisted of stars of the cinema, the show business, the great names of politics and international diplomacy, for whom he creates successive models which will remain famous.
Since 1970, in spite of the arrival of fashion'name (Dior, Saint Laurent, Courrèges), Pierre Marly remains faithful in his image of avant-gardist optician creating a limited number of models and diffusing them in small series. It will be every year a strong, creative, sometimes provocating collection in unusual forms in audacious complexions, a sophisticated, sophisticated collection, up-market in based on natural materials such as wood, horn of buffalo, scale, leather...
Pierre Marly completes his collections with exclusivities picked up abroad and of which he does distribution in France. Pierre Marly's philosophy: to assure visual comfort, to advise the accessory of mode, the vestimentary element which is going to make forget visual defect, to determine the criteria which will contribute to the choices of the frame. If so much well known personalities knowt Pierre Marly, it is certainly because of the incomparable quality of the service which is proposed by a competent staff in a high style decoration combinating luxury and seriousness
